Brake Repair & Replacement
Squealing, grinding, a soft pedal or a shudder when you stop. Brakes tell you before they fail. We inspect the whole system, show you what we find, and quote before we touch anything.

Signs You Need Brake Service
Most brake problems announce themselves. If you notice any of these, get it looked at. Brake repairs are far cheaper before a rotor is damaged.
- High-pitched squealing: the wear indicator is designed to make that noise when pads get thin.
- Grinding or growling: the pad material is gone and metal is contacting the rotor. Stop driving on it.
- A soft or spongy pedal: usually air or moisture in the fluid, sometimes a leak.
- Pulling to one side: a sticking caliper or uneven pad wear.
- Shudder through the pedal: warped or unevenly worn rotors.
- Brake warning light: low fluid, or the ABS system has logged a fault.
What We Do
We inspect the whole brake system before quoting, because fitting new pads to a seized caliper wastes your money.
- Measure first. We measure pad thickness and rotor runout and check the fluid's moisture content, so the recommendation is based on numbers.
- Show you the parts. You see the worn component next to a new one before you agree to anything. If a rotor can be resurfaced safely, we say so.
- Check the whole system. Calipers, slides, hoses, and the parking brake. A seized slide pin ruins a new set of pads in months, so replacing pads alone is often the wrong fix.
- Bed the brakes in. New pads and rotors need a proper bedding procedure. Skipping it is the most common cause of a shudder that appears a week after a brake job.
How We Quote It
We inspect before quoting, because recommending parts from a description is how people end up paying for the wrong ones. Once we know what your vehicle needs, you get a written estimate covering parts and labor.
If we find something extra mid-job, we stop and call you with the measurement and the cost. Nothing gets done without your approval.
Every repair carries a 1, 2 or 3 year warranty, capped at 12,000, 24,000 or 36,000 miles respectively, whichever comes first. Ask us which one covers your repair; it is printed on the invoice either way.
Common Questions
How long do brake pads last?
Anywhere from 25,000 to 70,000 miles depending on the vehicle, the pad material and how you drive. Stop-and-go traffic on Grapevine Highway wears pads considerably faster than highway miles.
Do I need to replace rotors every time?
No. If a rotor is above its minimum thickness and running true, it can often be resurfaced or left alone. We measure and tell you which applies to yours.
Is grinding an emergency?
Treat it as one. Grinding usually means the friction material is gone and metal is contacting the rotor, which lengthens your stopping distance and damages parts that were fine the week before.
Is the brake work covered?
Yes. Every repair we do carries a 1, 2 or 3 year warranty, capped at 12,000, 24,000 or 36,000 miles respectively, whichever comes first, in writing on your invoice.
