Headlight Restoration & Bulb Replacement

Headlight restoration for lenses gone yellow and hazy, plus burned-out bulbs, failed housings and moisture behind the lens. We fix what has actually failed, then aim the lights so you see the road without dazzling the driver coming the other way.

Signs You Need Headlight Restoration & Bulb Replacement

Lighting faults are easy to miss from the driver's seat. Some you only notice when another driver flashes you.

  • Yellow, cloudy headlight lenses: plastic lenses oxidize in sunlight, and a hazy lens scatters the beam and cuts the light reaching the road.
  • Water droplets inside the housing: a failed seal or blocked vent lets moisture in, which shortens bulb life and can corrode the reflector.
  • One headlight dimmer or a different color: halogen bulbs dim with age and HID bulbs shift color, a sign the other side is not far behind.
  • A turn signal flashing fast: usually a bulb out on that side, which the flasher circuit detects.
  • Brake lights not working: often a bulb, sometimes the switch at the pedal, which on many cars also affects cruise control and shifting out of park.
  • Lights flickering over bumps: a loose connector, a corroded socket or a poor ground.

What We Do

A bulb is the simplest answer, but not always the right one, so we find out why a light stopped working before replacing it.

  • Find the cause. Bulb, socket, connector, ground, ballast or module. Checking the circuit means a new bulb does not fail again a week later because the socket was scorched.
  • Restore or replace the lens. Lightly hazed lenses can usually be sanded, polished and sealed with a UV-resistant coating. Lenses that are cracked, deeply crazed or holding water need a new housing, and we tell you which yours is.
  • Keep both sides matched. Headlight bulbs age at the same rate. Replacing only one side leaves an uneven beam and usually a second visit soon after, so we suggest the pair and you decide.
  • Aim the headlights. After a housing replacement or restoration, the beams are aimed to specification. Aimed too high they dazzle oncoming drivers; too low and you outrun your own light at highway speed.

How We Quote It

We inspect before quoting, because recommending parts from a description is how people end up paying for the wrong ones. Once we know what your vehicle needs, you get a written estimate covering parts and labor.

If we find something extra mid-job, we stop and call you with the measurement and the cost. Nothing gets done without your approval.

Every repair carries a 1, 2 or 3 year warranty, capped at 12,000, 24,000 or 36,000 miles respectively, whichever comes first. Ask us which one covers your repair; it is printed on the invoice either way.

Common Questions

How long does headlight restoration last?

It depends on the coating and how much sun the car sees. Polishing alone can haze again within months under a Texas sun. A restoration sealed with a UV-resistant coat generally holds up much longer.

Can I put LED bulbs in my halogen headlights?

Most plug-in LED conversion bulbs are not certified to federal lighting standards. The housing was designed around a filament in one exact position, so the beam often scatters into oncoming traffic. If you want LED lighting, a complete housing designed for it is the proper route.

Can you replace just the LED in a factory LED headlight?

Usually not. On most factory LED headlights the light source is built into the housing, so a failure means a new assembly. We check the wiring and the control module first to make sure the housing is really the cause.

Why does the same bulb keep burning out?

Touching a halogen bulb's glass during fitting leaves skin oil that creates a hot spot, and that is a common cause. Others are a loose connector, moisture in the housing, or high voltage from a charging system fault.
